Stage 1, Stage 2 or Stage 3?
Stage 1 — the initial changes. Generally focuses on changes to the transmission's internal torque limits. The exact calibration depends on your vehicle.
Stage 2 — more responsive shifting. Builds on Stage 1 with a broader remap. Depending on the vehicle, changes can include faster shifts, more responsive behaviour and stronger downshift blips in sport modes.
Stage 3 — a sportier setup. Takes performance-focused shifting further, with more assertive behaviour in the relevant sport settings where supported. This is a ready-made xHP map, developed for the specific vehicle.
Features differ between E-Series and F-Series DCT models and between available maps. We check the map descriptions for your car; the highest stage is not automatically the best choice for every driver.
What changes with a DCT tune?
A DCT uses two clutches to manage gear changes. Its software controls gear selection, clutch engagement and the coordination between engine and gearbox during a shift. xHP can change that behaviour through the available vehicle-specific maps. Your chosen map determines the changes included in this installation.

Check the gearbox, not just the badge: the same model name can have different transmissions. Manual, SMG, six-speed and eight-speed gearboxes are outside this listing. MINI and other BMW seven-speed DCT models are not automatically covered by this product.

Please note
- The unlock uses VIMOTU's dealer account. A personal xHP licence for independent self-flashing is not included.
- The package covers the agreed installation. Later map changes or reinstallations are quoted separately.
- Your engine and gearbox should be in good working condition. Tell us about warning lights, shifting faults, existing tuning or a replacement gearbox.
- Software tuning does not repair mechanical faults. Bespoke map development and gearbox servicing are not included.
